7th Annual Thanksgiving Hoopfest Kicks off with Top Basketball TalentThis year the 7th Annual “Thanksgiving Hoopfest” took place over Thanksgiving weekend at the Sandra Meadows Arena in Duncanville, TX. The annual event allows H.S. players to showcase their skills in front of College Coaches, Scouts, Media and their basketball fans. Attendees of this 2 day event had the opportunity to witness some of the Nation’s elite high school prospects battling it out.

Despite the Dallas shakey weather and Black Friday shopping madness, the Thanksgiving Hoopfest still had sports fans, media outlets, scouts & coaches entertained and for good reason. These teams from across the country came to have their chance to leave victorious from this holiday tournament.

The weekend concluded with the ever so hyped matchup between two of the best PGs in the Country, De’Aaron Fox (Cy Lakes) and Andrew Jones (MacArthur). The two went toe to toe, to deliver an undeniable show that wowed the crowd, presumably making this the matchup of the year.

DeAaron Fox (Cy Lakes) Regarded as top PG in class of 2016 with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

Andrew Jones (Irving MacArthur)- Top PG in the class of 2016 with 29 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Trae Young (Norman North) No. 25 player in class of 2017 by ESPN with an averaged 38 points, 6.5 assists, and four rebounds two games played.

Schnider Herard (Plano Prestonwood) Finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds.

Cam McGriff (South Grand Prairie) 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Harrison Henderson (South Grand Prairie) 13 points and six rebounds.

R.J. Nembhard (Keller Central) 22 points

C.J. Roberts (Richland) ranked 85 in class of 2017 Finished with 31 points, two assists, and two rebounds.

DeAndre Williams (SATCH) Finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Marquee players this year include, De’Aaron Fox, Trae Young, Schnider Herard, Andrew Jones, JJ Caldwell, Cameron McGriff, RJ Nembhard, just to name a few.

MaxPreps, a CBSSports.com site, has named Thanksgiving HoopFest as one of the top Showcase events in the country.

Some college coaches that have previously attended the event include Bill Self from the University of Kansas, John Calipari from the University of Kentucky, Mike Krzyzewski (“Coach K”) from Duke University, Scott Drew from Baylor University and Johnny Jones from Louisiana State University.

Advanced Preparatory International has put together an impressive Midnight Madness event with confirmed celebrities, music artist, and professional athletes, set for October 17, 2015

Dallas, TX. – One of the newest editions to the Private School community, Advanced Preparatory International is leading the nation with three of H.S. basketball top players. API will be holding their 1st Annual “API Midnight Madness” event which will showcase more than the hottest high school ballers in the country. Starting with API Boys Basketball Team vs API Staff and celebrity players. Trevon Duval, Terrance Ferguson and Billy Preston will lead the high school squad and allow the Dallas community to see what’s hot in the city.

He and the BankRoll Mafia will entertain the crowd with a full concert and showcasing the music industry’s newest talent. National touring dj “DJ DUFFEY” will wow the crowd by engaging them with her sweet blends of intoxicating mixes and sounds. In addition the evenings game and entertainment, the A.W. FORT WORTH, Texas – This past weekend, Former Kansas Jayhawk Keith Langford brought his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas the first annual Metro Classic! The Metro Classic took place June 20th, 2015 at North Crowley High School, which consisted of a charity basketball game that included some of football and basketball’s top professionals around the area! There was also an autograph session prior to the game and prize giveaways.

Participants included Pro ball players David Kyles, Cameron Clark, James White, Demetric Shaw, Celtics Phil Pressey, Cowboys Tyler Patmon, Comedian Sydney Castillo, Recording Artist BHamp, Recording Artist Shelby Shaw, Alex Tiny B, Louie The Singer, Gin Blanton and Trent Shelton! Fort Worth Native DJ Wildhairr provided sounds. Shelby Shaw sang the National Anthem to kick off the game.

James Harden’s mother was in attendance and gave away autographed bobble heads of her son.

The proceeds from the charity game were donated to two attendees, one boy and one girl.
